General:
I'm Kevin. I'm 35 years old!! I'm from Canada, and lived in China about 7 years (as of 2018).
Here is my blog about my life I had China, and funny things I observed. Funny obviously being a relative term, as most things I laugh about in China are the cultural norm. This blog is a way for me to process my time there. If you're offended easily, you may want to find a more suitable blog about what people eat or their feelings on cats. I'm here for real talk.

My experience in China:
My first time to China was in 2009. I went to Sanmenxia to an orphanage for 2 weeks. During that time I fell in love with China (and all the craziness) and when I went home I worked, saved money, and went back for 6 months to Changsha to work in the government orphanage.
During those 6 months I began to study Chinese (once a week for 2 hours). All my Chinese I've learned since then has been on my own.
As being a volunteer doesn't pay much, I eventually had to think about money. Donations were hard to find, and in fact China couldn't legally let me stay longer than 6 months (in 2010). So through some friends friends I found a job in Huangshi teaching English at a middle school. I was there 2 years.
After that, I moved to Guiyang to help my friend foster orphans. After 1.5 years in Guiyang being a volunteer I once again was out of money. Plus as I had found a girlfriend (finally) I had to plan for a future. So I worked back in Huangshi for a year, saved, and begin my studies at Guizhou University. Because I need a bachelor degree to work in China, it seemed like the best option.
Now:
In early March 2018 I finally left China for many reasons.
